In minutes Jennifer Ortiz forwarded a text message, warning her friends of new gang initiation that's targeting women. However, she wasn't the only one.
The text read:
-- A NEW GANG INTITIATION 2SHOOT WOMEN. IF SOMEONE ASKS YOU FOR DIRECTIONS DON'T STOP! SEND TO EVERY WOMAN YOU KNOW.--
Within hours, the fear of women being shot spread through El Paso like wildfire. [...]
