Fire Alarm Boxes Mistaken for Mailboxes (various reports)

These old reports of fire alarm boxes mistaken for mailboxes could undoubtedly be multiplied by a more thorough search through digital newspaper archives. They seem to have been superseded by stories of letters dropped in dog waste receptacles or trash bins.
