China's official Xinhua news agency has punished an editor for "spreading false rumors" after he wrote on his personal blog that senior members of the government's propaganda department have a penchant for drinking human breast milk, reports qianlong.com, a news portal that happens to be hosted by the propaganda department of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee.
Zhou Fang, the editor, posted on his blog in mid-July that "leaders" inside the propaganda department have taken to drinking human breast milk, a recent trend among wealthy locals driven by myths about its health benefits. Some of the more outlandish rumors have alleged the existence of "breastfeeding orgies" attended by Communist Party members. [...]
