more than a dozen needles were found jammed in a train seat in Melbourne’s
inner west on Tuesday. A commuter, Anthony Artusa was travelling on the city
loop service at Footscray station when he found “around 20 needles depressed

Melbourne train seat, puncturing an unsuspecting passenger's posterior, was on
bail when he allegedly committed the offence. The 16-year-old boy, who cannot
be named for legal reasons, faced a Children's Court on Tuesday on charges
including intentionally causing injury, assault with a weapon and committing an

Allen Park, a quirky little private community off 1300 East, across from
Westminster College. A couple of generations of teenagers know it better as
Hobbitville, because, as the story goes, it's a community of little people. […]
On weekends during the summer months, their antics became an evening ritual.
Around 10 p.m., teens looking for hobbits would swarm on the sidewalk outside
the brick pillars leading into the park. Then, as if responding to a signal
from the earth's magnetic field, they would surge down the long driveway and
past the main house that guards the entrance. […]

crashes while doing 'Bird Box' Challenge, police say
LAYTON — A teenager allegedly participating in the
"'Bird Box' Challenge" caused a two-car accident when she attempted
to drive while her eyes were covered, police say. A 17-year-old girl was
driving on the Layton Parkway just before 5 p.m. Monday when she allegedly
decided to pull her beanie hat over her eyes and continue driving, said Layton
Police Lt. Travis Lyman. […] The girl, traveling about 35 mph, began to swerve
back and forth, eventually overcorrecting, and went into oncoming traffic where
she sideswiped another vehicle on the driver's side, Lyman said. The impact
from that crash spun the girl's pickup truck into a light pole and a concrete

Mum horrified to find needle
in loaf of bread
A NSW mum was shocked after her young son found a sewing
needle inside a slice of bread purchased from their local Coles supermarket. Cherie
said she came home to find her son “freaking out” after spotting something
unusual while making toast. “He’s gone, ‘mum, look! What would’ve happened if
I’d bitten it’?” Cherie told Yahoo News, claiming that the two-inch needle was
baked into the Tip Top Sunblest bread. “There was a brown crust around the
needle, so it was baked in,” she said. […]
