Simi Valley Mother Finds Oxycodone, Xanax in Her Children's Halloween Candy
A mother who took her children to a Halloween “Trunk or Treat” event in Simi Valley discovered drugs in a zip-close bag in their candy Friday. When the woman got home, she emptied her children’s candy onto the table to disinfect it as a COVID-19 precaution. That’s when she saw a clear bag with four circular blue pills and one white cylinder shaped pill, Simi Valley police said in a Nixle alert. A woman called police Thursday after discovering an approximately 1-inch-long, needle-sized nail in her bite-sized candy bar, the police said in a news release Friday. Woonsocket police say needles were found inside Halloween candy
WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — Woonsocket police say they have received a report of sewing needles found inside Halloween candy. Police said there were two packages of Twizzlers, one that had two needles inside the candy and anther that had one in the package. Woonsocket, RI — Kathy Sayaphat says her family has lived here since 2012 and she was comfortable with the kids trick-or-treating yesterday on a few nearby streets. That's why she was shocked when her 12-year-old daughter came home, started opening candy, and discovered needles hidden inside strings of Twizzler candy. "I felt something in a straight line, in the Twizzlers. And the needle popped out,” said Sayaphat. "She was about to eat it and luckily, she was sort of flexing it back and forth, and then she felt the metal. So that was crazy, scary." SSM Police: Watch for tainted candy
A social media report of tainted candy being handed out has been confirmed by police. Lincoln Louttit the communications manager verified the incident in an e-mail provided to Sault Online. “We received a call of someone allegedly giving candy to teenagers, the children who received the candy informed officers it appeared wrappers had been tampered with,” said Louttit. “Officers advised the complainant to throw the candy away. No license plate number of the vehicle allegedly involved was provided.” The incident allegedly happened on or near Pim Street. According to social media, it was a black vehicle handing out the candy.

DELTA (NEWS 1130) – A man and woman who were arrested in Delta after a pot product allegedly made it into a child’s Halloween candy are speaking out. Adam and Vanessa Macgillivray’s illegal marijuana edible operation was also busted after a parent reported finding a cannabis edible in their child’s Halloween haul weeks ago. The couple isn’t denying claims about their illegal drug operation, but the pair says they would never distribute marijuana to minors.
