Richard Dorson, America in Legend. Folklore from the Colonial Period to the Present. New York, 1973, p. 306. Dorson found this legend in an issue of the Berkeley Barb published sometime in 1969.
This is the best story I ever heard of getting out of the draft. This guy shoved crunchy peanut butter up his ass before going to his physical. When the time came to have asses examined, he pulled his pants down, and just as the captain was approaching him reached back and got some peanut butter from his ass and ate it.It grossed out the captain so badly, he just let him out.
