3 killed, 12 arrested over blood sucking allegations in North Malawi

At least 12 suspects have been arrested in connection to the brutal murder of three people believed to be blood suckers in Mzimba and Chitipa districts on the northern part of Malawi. […] Similar allegations were highly circulated in 2017 and 2019 in Phalombe and Mulanje districts where lives and property was lost and nobody medically proven to have fallen victim.

Bishop Mtumbuka says no blood suckers in Malawi

NSO put on hold amid blood suckers attacks

Officials from National Statistics Office (NSO) have put on hold a survey following attacks over blood suckers myths. Insurance officer arrested for calling police officers ‘bloodsuckers’

 

Police in Dedza have arrested a Reunion Insurance officer for accusing police officers of being bloodsuckers. Dedza police station deputy publicist Sergeant Cassim Manda has identified the suspect as Matthews Mvenya aged 34. […] Police officers tried to reason with him that they were not bloodsuckers but he insisted claiming that they are behind alleged acts of blood sucking.
