'Mystery drone' faithful undeterred by lack of
evidence
Expert says “social panic”, “collective delusion”
could explain drone sightings.
The Colorado Department of Public Safety says it is
scaling back its investigation into reports of unexplained drone sightings
after finding zero evidence that groups of large unmanned aircraft are flying
strange patterns in the night sky. “To date, CDPS has confirmed no incidents
involving criminal activity, nor have investigations substantiated reports of
suspicious or illegal drone activity,” the agency said Monday in a statement.

global anxiety, in much the same way that belief in flying saucers spiked

On January 9, 2020, at 11:00 am, a deputy assigned to
the city of Temecula responded to the 41000 block of Carleton Way, regarding
razor blades affixed to a car door handle. The investigation revealed that the
razor blades were placed in a manner likely to cause injury. No one was injured
during the incident. On January 10, 2020, at 9:12 am, a deputy responded to the
31000 block of Daniel Way, to a report of a resident locating a single razor
blade found on the front of their vehicle. During this investigation, it was
undetermined why the razor was left on a vehicle. It does not appear to be
related to the incident that occurred on January 9th. Both incidents occurred
in separate areas of the city of Temecula. […]
